Is an art space that contains creative ideas and is
made for the art society as a platform to create and share In Dapur Cipta, collected
ideas do not just end there, but are cultivated in the hope of being useful to
others, as well as to the artists themselves.
Dapur (‘kitchen’ in the Indonesian language) is a space for cooking, where a variety of ingredients are processed, flavoured, and then cooked to produce a healthy and delicious food. A kitchen can also serve a gathering place if there are many people involved in the cooking process, therefore indirectly serving as an activity space that gathers and unifies. Communication and learning processes occur in the kitchen: such as talking about family and also exchanging recipes. In the kitchen, the ingredients are processed.
Cipta (‘create,’ in Indonesian) is a power of mind to invent something new. In this case, ideas are transformed into concrete art works, so that those ideas may flow and solidify into forms.
Based on this philosophy, Dapur Cipta has been formed as a space to gather, learn, and to produce art works that can be enjoyed and can inspire a lot of people.
Dapur Cipta conducts diverse arts programs, including regular programs, project-based programs, collaborations, education programs, and art services.
Dapur Cipta is a space to learn, to exchange experiences and knowledge. It will be a space for discussion, self-introduction, a place to widen networks and gain international recognition.
To start 2015, with sincerity and the hope that this will be the first step that leads to many other ahead, Dapur Cipta is proud to present its first exhibition program: Stimulation Project#1.

Dapur Cipta Art Energy was initiated by artist Nia Gautama in early 2015. The idea to create Dapur Cipta started in October 2014, inspired by an artist in the midst of an ‘idea block’. This led to an idea for a regular program called Stimulation Project. Nia Gautama was born in Jakarta and now resides in Bandung (since 2014). She is currently pursuing her MFA in Visual Arts at ITB, Bandung. As she decided to become totally immersed, either as an artist or art organizer, she has found the need to fill her daily life with art activities. This hunger has inspired her to create an alternative space that can provide opportunities for creative practitioners to create, learn, and show their potential. She has discovered that there are many creative individuals still hidden from the art world, but have potential to exist.
